In 2019, we ran a mix of internal instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and e-learning courses attended by 3,951 of 4,193 employees.
In addition, 46 employees participated in our advanced leadership development programs.Trainings focus on job-specific skills, competencies and leadership development. For 2019, as in previous years, employees provided overall very positive feedback.

In 2019 the gender split across the whole company remained at 51% men and 49% women. The participation of women in leadership roles was at 29% (2018: 28%).
We aim to increase the number of women in leadership roles to 30% in 2020.
In 2019, we launched the QIAGEN Executive Council of Equal Opportunity, made up of senior representatives from different sectors across the company. The committee works closely with our Diversity Ambassador program, which has representatives of employees from across the world to champion diversity in the sites and countries they are based in.
